Port's position: Latitude 46 50'N, longitude 31 56'E.
Port is situated on the left bank Yuzhny (South) Bug river 36 miles upriver from Black Sea on the Bugsko-Dneprovsko-Limanskiy canal.
The canal until the port has 11 bends :5 of which pass through Dneprovskiy canal and 6 pass through the Yuzhny Bug river. Maximum approaching channel draft restricted by 9.8 m fresh water, LOA 215m, BEAM 30 m. Maximum draft at port is 9.8 m fresh water.
Tug-boat assistance is compulsory for vessels with LOA more 187m proceeding via the channel. Port has the anchorage No. 363 in the channel for vessels with draft up to 9.8 m fresh water.
Oktyabrskiy loads special equipment and civil cargoes. A large volume of steel products are transshipped via this port too.
Specific working conditions in the port Oktyabrskiy attract expensive cargoes.
