Ukrainian Black Sea ports

Port's position: Latitude 46 45'N, longitude 31 57'E.

Port is situated on the left bank Yuzhny (South) Bug river 32 miles upriver from Black Sea on the Bugsko-Dneprovsko-Limanskiy canal. The canal to the port has 9 bends: 5 of which pass through Dneprovskiy canal and 4 pass through the Yuzhny Bug river. Maximum approaching channel draft restricted by 9.8 m fresh water, LOA 215m, BEAM 30 m. Vessels with dimentions exceeding above (Panamax-size) can be accepted by the port after coordination with the Traffic control. Tug-boat assistance is compulsory for vessels with LOA more 187m proceeding via the channel.

Dneprobugsky port has two roads: inner roads in the port area for vessels with LOA up to 200 m and outer roads in the channel.

Port operates 3 berths in line with total length 700 m. Two berths more are under construction.

Port handled in 1999 about 2,800,000 mts of bauxites as main cargo coming to the port. Dneprobugsky port handling different export cargoes as well: steel in bundles/coils, scrap in bulk, livestock, general cargo in boxes/pallets, chemical cargoes , etc. There is special complex at port for export of molasses by shore pipe into tankers with total storage capacity of tanks at port about 30,000 mts .

Port works 24 hrs a day SHINC.

Dnepro-Bugskiy port also loads treacle in not large quantities onto small tankers. Treacle is laden at piers Nos. 2 and 3.
